EP. 205 - Tyler Bates' '300'
Based on a True Story

Action, Drama, 18-Jan-2023
We feel that Zack Snyder is a visionary, and the way he utilizes fantastical elements in his films (along with the score) is unique. Regardless of what you think about this film, it's beautiful to watch. The rich contrasted colors, the sepia tones, the incredible slow motion action shots in battle... it was quite something to see in IMAX when it came out in 2006.
Tyler Bates' score is incredible in this film. It beautifully matches the tone and color in each scene. This one in particular is a moment between King Leonidas and his Queen (played by the great Lena Headey). While short, you really feel immersed in their moment. That is the true power of how score can put you there with them - to feel the unspoken elements between the characters. Enjoy.

Crowe is notoriously famous for his hand-crafted soundtracks, and 'Almost Fa...
