There are so many epic cues in 'Return of the King' it becomes overwhelming to try and decide which one to feature. Writing nearly 8 minutes of music per day to keep on schedule, we think this is one of Shore's finest achievements to-date. Winning the Academy Award in 2004, the score features the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Voices, the London Oratory School Schola and featured vocal soloists.
What should you look out for in this string of scenes? The dynamics, and shifting of tones throughout. Ending with the vocal soloist as Gandalf runs through the open field gives you goosebumps. All of this can be attributed to Peter Jackson's incredible creative vision, but also Shore's brilliant work composing unforgettable themes and moments throughout.
