Horror, Music, Sci-Fi, 11-Oct-2021
Who can forget this iconic 1979 Ridley Scott film? No-one. As an addition to our Halloween snapshot list we wanted to feature Jerry Goldsmith's absolutely unforgettable score. Interestingly, Goldsmith wanted to create a sense of romanticism and lyrical mystery in the film's opening credits (which is what you see here), which would build throughout the film to suspense and fear.
The score was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, a Grammy Award for Best Soundtrack Album, and a BAFTA Award for Best Film Music.
Will you be watching this for Halloween? We will for sure!
