Sometimes it doesn't take much to complete a scene. Tangerine Dream did this perfectly in this last moment with fluid electronica - their signature sound that truly defined the 80s. This scene in particular is a wonderful example of how electronic textures and a repetitive motif can accentuate the frenzy, stress, and helplessness of Joel's character played by a young Tom Cruise in one of the best performances of his early career.
This is one of the finest coming-of-age films that is a pinnacle cinematic product of the 80s. Part satire, part suburban poetry with shameless 80s excess along with a great soundtrack makes it a top pick in our book. A film that features some truly dark themes with great performances and a honest exploration of teen angst makes it a must-watch film at any point in your life. Enjoy!

Interestingly, director Denis Villeneuve wanted music closer to the original Vangelis score, and we think Wallfisch and Zimmer did an outstanding job at paying tribute to the original while also making it their own. It is without question that this film is brilliantly shot, with Oscar-winner Roge...
