Ep. 132 - John Williams' 'Hook'
Adventure, Comedy, Kids and Family, Music, 09-Feb-2022
Who can forget the 1991 Spielberg film, 'Hook'? It is, by far, one of John Williams' best scores to-date. Nominated for a Grammy, there are moments in this film that are strikingly gorgeous when combining the set design, Spielberg's direction, and Robin Williams' emotional performance.
This scene in particular is when Peter Banning (played by Williams) is finally recognized as the real Peter Pan. The cue itself is exquisite, with sweeping strings and choir. Combining that with the incredible performances in the scene, you achieve something touching and unforgettable. We suggest, if you haven't seen the film already, to do so immediately.
