We love this film, specifically Nicole Kidman's incredible performance as Virginia Woolf which actually won her an Academy Award. The score, composed by the legendary Philip Glass, won the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Score, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media (lost to the score of the film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers).

This scene in particular is at the beginning of the film, when Woolf commits suicide. We then are introduced to each different character - three women of different generations whos lives are interconnected by Woolf's 'Mrs Dalloway' in some way. The score is just absolutely beautiful - and we consider this score to be one of Glass' greatest achievements. If you haven't seen the film, it's worth checking out for the performances and score alone.
