'Waterworld' is an interesting film, mainly because over time it has gained a following who not only appreciate its creativity but its production achievements. There is no question that when it was released it had a lot of toxic buzz circling it due to production delays (a massive hurricane destroyed the multimillion-dollar set), but over time it has matured to have a critical reception similar to 'Max Max', or even 'Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior'.

What is fascinating for us about this film in particular is that Mark Isham was originally hired to write the score, but had creative differences with Costner. As a result, James Newton Howard was brought in to write a new score, which is ultimately what we hear in the film.

This snapshot in particular contains two cues, which are two of our favorite tracks from the soundtrack. We suggest that if you haven't seen the film, you should absolutely spend the time to check it out.
