Ep. 183 - Nino Rota's 'The Godfather'
Crime, Drama, 12-Sep-2022
Without question 'The Godfather' is one of the best films ever made, which is why we have produced a film concert experience that not only showcases the film, but the genius of Rota's score, which won a Grammy, Golden Globe, and British Academy Film Award. At the Oscars, the film won Best Picture, Best Actor (Brando), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Puzo and Coppola). In addition, the seven other Oscar nominations included Pacino, Can, and Duvall for Best Supporting Actor, and Coppola for Best Director.
Who can forget the solo horn playing The Main Title during the opening sequence? It ranks up there as one of the most memorable scores ever composed, and we hope that you enjoy this small snippet from the film. If you can, watch the 4k restoration of the film and check out this film concert if it ends up in your area. Trust us - it's well worth it.
