Ep. 222 - Due Date (feat. Pink Floyd & Band of Horses)
Comedy, Drama, 08-May-2023
When it comes to the use of music in the 2010 comedy film "Due Date," it might seem like an odd pairing to include both Pink Floyd and Band of Horses, but the result is surprisingly effective. In the opening scene of this snapshot, Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis drive through the desert to the iconic Pink Floyd song "Hey You" - a scene which is a clear nod to the classic film "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." The song creates a genuine moment of bonding between the two characters, as they reflect on their personal challenges and try to make amends.
Later in the movie, the Band of Horses song "Is There a Ghost" plays as the characters arrive at the Grand Canyon. The melancholic and introspective tone of the song perfectly captures the emotions of the scene, as the characters reflect on their current situations and relationships.
