Ep. 34 - James Newton Howard's 'A Hidden Life' (4K HDR)
Biography, Drama, Romance, Music, 01-Feb-2021
There are very few directors that are marked by broad philosophical and spiritual overtones, but Terrence Malick has truly stood out from the crowd and become one of the most well known directors alive as a result.
Featuring a score by James Newton Howard that he considered a 'spiritual' exploration about the 'suffering inherent in love', you are introduced to the characters at the top of the film with an incredible violin solo by James Ehnes. Combine that with the beautiful cinematography and distinct directing style of Malick, you get a truly incredible cinematic experience.
