Ep. 36 - Jerry Goldsmith's 'First Knight'
Action, Adventure, Drama, Music, V (Violence), PG-13, 08-Feb-2021
Some consider this to be one of the best Jerry Goldsmith scores to-date. Interestingly, Goldsmith had limited time to compose the score with only three and a half days to record the entire thing.
This sequence is from the epic battle and finale at the end of the film, and it is truly a massive cue. It is a percussive powerhouse, and it truly represents the apogee of Goldsmith's choral writing. The complexity and synergy with the music and what you see on screen cannot be understated - it is truly a work of genius.
