Goldenthal describes this soundtrack as combining "orchestration techniques associated with the late 20th-century Polish avant-garde, as well as my own experiments from Alien 3, and 19th-century Straussian brass and string instrumentation."

Elliot Goldenthal is a composer of contemporary classical music as well as a film composer. He won the Academy Award® for Best Original Score in 2002 for his score Frida.
