"The Pink Panther Theme", which is featured in this clip, reached the top 10 in the U.S. Billboard chart and features the distinct tenor saxophone of Plas Johnson.

The album itself was nominated for a Grammy, and Academy Award. In 2001, the album was awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award. In 2005, the score was listed at No. 20 on AFI's '100 Years of Film Scores'.
