Ep. 62 - Hans Zimmer's 'Man of Steel'
Action, Adventure, Music, Sci-Fi, 09-May-2021
There is no question that following in the footsteps of John Williams' iconic score to the 1978 Richard Donner film is pretty much impossible. However, if anything Hans Zimmer has taught us, is that he is excellent at re-defining and re-creating iconic themes for superheroes. In fact, Zimmer's score is a complete departure from the 'Superman March' that we all know, thus re-defining the story in his own musical voice. We think that is what makes this film and score so special. This cue in particular combines some of the best melodic elements of Superman the superhero, with tender solo piano motifs defining his grounded humanity. We feel it all here in this cue. Enjoy it!
