Ep. 66 - James Horner's 'Class Action'
Drama, Thriller, Music, 24-May-2021
The 1991 American legal drama "Class Action" directed by Michael Apted stars many of our favorite actors (the great Gene Hackman, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and a very young Lawrence Fishburne), but it also features a score by the late James Horner. This score isn't as well known as some of the other more recent compositions by Horner, but it stands out as one of his most subtle and dynamic. This scene is filled with loss and remembrance, and Horner uses a simple piano motif to quietly capture subtle character moments and emotion present in the scene. It's definitely worth a listen, and if you haven't seen the film, check it out.
