Composed and conducted by James Horner and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, this was Horner's second of three collaborations with Gibson as director. The score itself is one of our favorites, and has gone on to be one of the most commercially successful soundtracks of all time. It was nominated for a variety of awards including the Academy Award, Saturn Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe. Overall, the film itself was nominated for ten Academy Awards, and won five. If you haven't seen the film, it's an essential watch.

This is one of the last scenes with with William Wallace after being captured. It is one of the most dynamic, gorgeous, and emotional cues in the entire, even though the content depicts the common methods of punishment at the time. It is without question that Horner's music perfectly works in the scene. There is nothing quite like it.
