Ep. 79 - Benjamin Wallfisch & Hans Zimmer's 'Blade Runner: 2049'
Action, Drama, Music, Mystery, 07-Jul-2021
Interestingly, director Denis Villeneuve wanted music closer to the original Vangelis score, and we think Wallfisch and Zimmer did an outstanding job at paying tribute to the original while also making it their own. It is without question that this film is brilliantly shot, with Oscar-winner Roger Deakins winning his first Academy Award for the film.
The dystopian landscapes with the powerful mix of synths, soundscapes, and audible textures really creates a unique cinematic experience. It captivates, it silences, and brings you into the world that is so dynamically presented here. Enjoy.
